Recognizing and Understanding the Signs and Nature of Bullying.
Overall learning objective/aim
To allow teachers to work with children and young people to define and understand what is bullying and how it occurs. Teachers, children and young people can spend at least 1-2 class sessions discussing the definitions and where the problem may lie within their school.
The definitions presented in this narrative here are intended to support adults (parents; educators; teachers; community workers) and young people (aged 8-17+) to learn, discuss and understand the signs and nature of bullying and how it occurs, particularly in the school environment. The narrative can also assist teachers and children to address and discuss how further protection can be given to children and young people when in school.
